T‐shaped dielectric resonator antenna with a high antenna gain

This Letter proposes a T-shaped dielectric resonator (DR) antenna (DRA) to achieve high gain. The proposed comprises cylindrical DR top-loaded by disk, forming DRA that can be fabricated in one go. It is excited the higher-order HEM115 mode. was designed Ku band and validate idea. Its measured peak gain 16.13 dBi at 13.34 GHz, with 10-dB impedance bandwidth of 9.36%. As compared conventional DRA, our design has large enhancement ∼9 dB.
